Career Center Volunteer Program
for Fall/Spring
2014-2015
POSITION SUMMARY: The program is designed to have students
interested in gaining experience in the Career Center and to aid in enhancing
the success of co-curricular activities at The University of Akron.
Volunteers will be
committed to:
Volunteering throughout the fall and spring semester. Interacting with
employers, students, and Career Center staff during Career Fairs and other
career events. Marketing the Career Center through distribution of flyers in
high traffic areas. Participating in brainstorming/feedback sessions regarding
Career Center programs and services. Attending training sessions as
appropriate.
BENEFITS OF BEING A
CAREER CENTER VOLUNTEER:
Develop an understanding of the programs and services offered by the Career
Center and the UA campus.Understand program initiatives in a co-curricular
learning environment at the UA. Utilize critical thinking and problem solving
abilities.Develop programming and marketing skills. Demonstrate positive
self-management skills. Identify transferable skills that can be used upon
internship completion.
