L.I.N.K.S. Boys & Girls Afterschool Academy

     L.I.N.K.S. offers an after school program for students that attend Robinson, Mason and Leggett elementary schools. The targeted population of students could have mild behavioral problems and may not be academically sound. These student tend to be transient students and may have multiple barriers in their life. For the academy to be effective we are in need of at least 26 volunteers on a regular basis and currently we are in need of at least 15 more volunteersThe academy operates Monday through Thursday 2:00 - 5:30 pm throughout the school year and is off when the Akron Public School are off. You could choice to volunteer four days or one. Also, you could volunteer one hour or three. The main focus is the hour of tutoring which is 3:30 pm until 4:30 pm
     Available areas to serve are; daily preparing hot meals for students, daily tutoring, Monday's - Leadership Class, Tuesday - Art Class, Wednesday - Dance Class and Thursday - Military Drill Class. They are also seeking a volunteer Assistant Program Director, if there is anyone interested in getting their feet wet in planning and programming. There is a wonderful group of volunteers - retire teachers, student counselor, engineers, veterans and parents.

Seeds of Change Tutoring at Helen Arnold After-School Program

Make a difference in the life of a child. Help first through
sixth grade students in reading and math at Helen Arnold CLC
 located near downtown Akron. Requesting 20 volunteers.

Wednesdays, January 22-March 26, 3:15 to 4:15 pm 
Thursdays, January 23-March 27, 3:15 to 4:15 pm
